Doin' Halloween the Goodwill Way!

This year little man is going to have a Spooktacular Birthday Bash! With his birthday falling so close to Halloween {Oct.28} we thought this year we would tie it all together.

It's going to be spooky but not scary. So I started thinking up a few goodies this past weekend.

First, this lovely little frame that I picked up for a mer $.90 {after my Goodwill discount}.

After a coat of spray paint, scrapbook paper and some glittered up plastic house numbers. This is what I got. I like it so much that I may make a few other designs. I found this little mini brass candle stick holder {sorry no before pic.} for $.50. It was so dull I didn't even paint it. Just applied a little spray adhesive and sprinkled a bit of Martha's super fine black glitter. I already had the orange candle sticks. And these larger candle stick holders were 50% off. So I got them both for $1.50. Applied my trusty black spray paint and we are good to go. This Halloween card was given to the kids last year. So I placed it in a black frame that I already had. Put a little bit of scrap book paper in the back and voila!
Hope this helps you think outside the box next time you are looking for a unique{cheap} item to create.

Now I've got to go back and check them out so I can recreate this decoration! Oh yeah...I'm just linking over from Kimba's...first time reader, but I'll definitley be back!

  6. This back happy memories for me. My youngest dd has a birthday in early Nov. so we always had a Hallowe'en bday party for her (she didn't mind celebrating early). It makes a great theme! If you want, I would be happy to share ideas for 'spooky ' food, decorations, etc. Just email me at: maureen.mccrackin@whitetree.ca .
