Theo Presents Giveaway

Our number one goal in life is teaching our children the word of God.  And I am always looking at every medium to convey this message.

So, when I was asked if I would like to review a new animation series that helped reinforce this belief I was quick to say yes. TheoPresents discusses doctrines about sin, God’s character, the Bible, salvation and godly living with easy-to-understand illustrations.

It was perfect for the car. Not only can my kiddos view it so can all their friends that we shuttle around. It’s a great conversation starter on so many levels.

The creator of The Presents is Michael Joens. Mike has produced and directed scores of animated commercials for companies such as Milton Bradley, Hasbro, Kenner, McDonalds and Playskool. In addition to commercial work, he produced and directed the animation segments for the award-winning video series “McGee in Me,” as well as the animated “Adventures in Odyssey” for focus on the family. After a waiting period of over 30 years, God opened the doors to Joens for the production of “The Presents.” At last, the dream of a cartoonist, called to teach the Word has come true. It is Mike’s hope that God will use Theo to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to children and adults in every country around the world.

I'm All In GIVEAWAY!

I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of Robert Pierre’s new album “I’m All In” due to be released July 26^th, 2011.

The kiddos and I have been rockin out to him in the car all this week!

Here’s a few amazing things about Robert…He just graduated from HIGH SCHOOL in Orlando, Florida. Here he regularly leads Sunday morning worship at his 800+ member church. In addition to writing and recording I’m All In and playing on a summer tour. W-O-W!

 “All of the songs have something to do with things I was going through my senior year,” Robert said of I’m All In. As he was preparing to say goodbye to friends and not really knowing what would come next he found comfort and peace in the Lord’s plan for his life.

 I think we all need to “pinterest” this as a great gift for all the seniors in our life next year. And guess what?

Monday was supposed to be the day to post the winner of the Birthday Banner giveaway. But, as you can see, that did not happen! Among MANY other things on my long “must do” list.


So, today I announce the winner. And just as I was about to pop over to random.org to generate my winner I was listening to K-Love and their discussion with today’s date, 3-16, as in John 3:16! As a reminder that God loved us so much that he sent His one and only Son to die for you!


That’s when I thought it would be a great idea to use 3:16 to generate my winner for me! Sadly we only had 11 entries for the giveaway so there could not be a #16 winner.

That leaves entry #3 as our winner!

Birthday Banner Giveaway

Well Hannah’s 11th birthday is sooner than I would like to admit.


I fear my days of party throwing for her have slowing come to an end…at least until some young man sweeps her off her feet. Oh, let’s say in 50 years!


This year she wants to invite her friends to sleep over at our local Embassy Suites, so they can take advantage of the indoor swimming pool and free breakfast {smile}!


I’ll admit a bit of me is excited at the fact I will not have to do “KP” duty for this shindig!


So when Buildasign.com contacted me about creating my very own banner I thought perfect! Something easy and cute to hang up in the hotel lobby.


All that was pink and Peace Signs last year has now migrated into turquoise and zebra print this year. I popped over to Buildasign.com and followed their easy design steps that helped me create this!

This 3x6 banner arrived last week and she was beyond thrilled!


And….buildasign.com was so kind to ship me two. One for me and one for you!

A Great Deal and A Winner!

First, I hit a fabulous deal over the weekend! You know the WOW ones you can’t believe you stumble across.


If there is one thing in life I despise it’s visiting Wal-mart on a weekend, Ugh! Honestly it takes me longer to park and check out than to actually walk the store for what I need. After dragging myself out Saturday morning I saw they had their Sonicare toothbrushes marked down from $78.94 to $37.94! Then I remembered I had two coupons for $25.00 one Sonicare toothbrush AND I had them with me. So I placed two in my cart and went to check out. I purchased two Sonicare toothbrushes for $12.94 each! That is a savings of $132.00!

It might not hurt to check your local Wal-mart on your next visit. I’m not quite sure when the coupons came out in the paper. I am not that organized. And I know not all Wal-marts price the same but this deal is to good to not at least check.


Onto our winner of The Help.


Hands down most of you stated Sweet Potatoes were a must at your Thanksgiving meal. If I am to be honest I have never really given the Sweet Potato much of a chance! Just something about a potato and marshmallow together that I have not gotten over. But, thanks to you I will be test trying a few over the holidays.

The Help Giveaway

Have you heard about Kathryn Stockett’s first novel, The Help? I know it has been out for some time and a lot of you are probably much more ahead of the curve than I.

But I just finished reading this book on the lives of three women. Two of whom are African American and the other Caucasian during the early 60’s in Mississippi. I loved how it took me back to that era and I felt as if I was right there with Skeeter.

Well, I have finished up my hardback copy and now want to pass it onto you.

What a Monday I have been having!

Redeeming Love Giveaway

Lately I have been on a reading kick and am not so sure why. The weather around here has been great and my "to do" list is never ending.

It would have to start with my confession that I rented New Moon one weekend when Ryan was on the road. There was not much else that night at Red Box and I thought I would see what all the hoopla was about. I got hooked and read the next 2 books, by Stephanie Meyers, in 2 1/2 weeks, all 1,462 pages! Not the best writing and I don’t even like vampires. I just had to know how Bella and Edward ended.


I should have gotten a clue while at Hastings I couldn’t find Breaking Dawn. Asked the nice girl working where I could find it and she directed me to the TEEN section.


But ah… I just finished up a wonderful book by the Christian author Francine Rivers entitled Redeeming Love. A novel based on the book of Hosea.

If you have not read this book I highly recommend reading it as soon as possible. It’s helpful to read the book of Hosea first. As it will only open your heart and mind further in understanding this woman God talks about in the Bible.


I can’t wait to start on her new book Her Mothers Hope.

The first in an epic two-book saga by beloved author Francine Rivers, this sweeping story explores the complicated relationships between mothers and daughters over several generations. Near the turn of the 20th century, fiery Marta leaves Switzerland determined to find life on her own terms. Her journey takes her through Europe and finally lands her with children and husband in tow in the central valley of California. Marta's experiences convince her that only the strong survive. So if you are in need of a few good summer reads I highly recommend Redeeming Love and Her Mothers Hope.

The Teen section????.....nothing wrong with that. I've been there myself. I have never read or heard of Francine Rivers, but it sounds like something I would really enjoy and then pass to my daughter and then daughter-in-law. They both love Christian books, but I don't believe they have mentioned this author. Thanks for the chance to win.
