My dad’s chili! This makes a TON and can feed about 15 folks till their bellies are stuffed.
Tabasco Cat Chili
{Minus the Tabasco and cat!}
2lbs Braum's sausage {don’t substitute}
1 package or jar of sliced mushrooms
2 green bell peppers, diced
Cumin to taste {1.5 tablespoons}
2 onions diced {medium size}
2 lbs Hamburger {not to lean}
2 cans Rotel [original}
2 Tablespoons chili powder or more depending on your taste
1.5 tablespoons garlic powder
2 cans tomato sauce {large}
1 can pinto beans
1 can Ranch Style Beans {or Red Kidney Beans}
2 14.5oz cans diced tomatoes {plain}
1 teaspoon salt {or to taste}
1 teaspoon pepper {or to taste}
Fry hamburger in skillet with some onions until brown {do not drain grease}, dump in large pot. Fry sausage in skillet with onion and add to pot. Do not fry both meats together. Add all remaining ingredients to pot and bring to boil. Lower to a simmer for about 2 hours.
I love to serve this over Fritos and topped with sour cream and cheese!
This freezes wonderfully!
