Goodwill Goddies!

It has been weeks sence my local Goodwill has had anything really worthwhile to offer up. So imagine my thrill last Friday when I found these little goodies.
Books, books and more books.

I love to find fabulous kids books.

One can never have too many copies of Mike Mulligan.
Or a neat book on tractors.
These books were in fabulous shape; their dust jackets still looked new. And they were all to Mandy and signed by the author.

Honest to goodness Gabe and Hannah went giddy over them.

A cute little clock.
A nice craft jar.
Something to fill the hole over our tallboy.
And a framed print, in just the right color.
And this, I just couldn’t pass up. I love the texture and lines. I have NO idea what the heck it is or what I am going to do with it yet. My gut was telling me to get it. All of this for a mear $19.34! Let's all say it togather...I L.O.V.E. Goodwill!

Happy hunting everyone!  Thrift Thursday - The Shabby Chic Cottage

  2. That last thing looks like a flower frog of some sort, doesn't it?

I love children's books too and am a sucker for thrift store find in that department. I was so spoiled a few years ago when my local at the time store had books 10 for a dollar. We bought way too many books! But, we'd read them and when we tired of them, redonate. Worked perfectly.

  3. Great finds Kate!! I really like the clock and the two paintings. We tend to get a lot of books from our Goodwill. Once we found a whole stack of Dr. Seuss books that looked like they had never been opened.

  4. I had to stop by to see what you had, as soon as I saw Goodwill Goodies. You see the name of my blog is "A conversation at Goodwill". It was there one night I ran into a friend who blogs and she suggested to me that I should try, and well the rest is history. Anyway, I practically live at that store. I am very jealous of your finds. By the way the wire thing is a flower frog used to arrange flowers. It is your copy of Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel that really got me excited. I still have my original copy of the book from the 1960's. It is my favorite children's book of all times. I loved all your treasures, but that book made me smile. Thank you. By the way, please stop over to say hi. I would love to show you around.

  5. Oh my goodness Kate, I love your finds at GW. I love my trips to the GW too. But it is almost as much fun to see what other people find there too. Smiles, Marla Oh yeah the Mike Mulligan brought back so many memories for me, I remember sitting on the floor in my classroom reading this when I was in the 1st or 2nd grade. I have always loved books and I find a lot of good ones at the GW too.

  6. Wow! Amazing finds! I went yesterday and found a Dwell shower curtain that I've been drooling over for months at Target. I've been hoping it would go on clearance(it's $26.99), but I bought the same one (brand new, mind you) at GW for $4.99!! Hooray for GW! Thanks for sharing!

  8. I'm pretty sure that last photo of that "thingie" is a flower holder for putting into a vase.

  9. I just found you through the link at The Shabby Chic Cottage. I LOVE children's books, too. You got some treasures! I agree about the last photo. I think it's a flower frog, but I've seen something similar to the top part used to hold snapshots. Have fun, whatever you do with it!
