If you only knew how long and hard I hunted to find a REAL old fashioned soda fountain you would think I was insane!
Honest, I was thinking of driving to Dallas to visit one that I know would have been perfect.
All that just because I wanted to take my kids Christmas pictures in one! I'm just about to cut me some peace sign fingers off! He was doing them in almost every picture. Urr...
Needless to say I made due with a refurbished Fountain shop in the city.
I ordered up milkshakes and let the sugar start flowing!
Then came my smiles.
Last year’s pictures were really vibrant. So this year I was going to do all black and white, but in the end I decided to add a bit of color to each of them.
Anyone know of some great design software? I really would love to take my pictures to that next level and create some fabulous cards.

Almost every time I go and pick Hannah up from a sleepover her friends always ask, “Can you make me a pillow case like Hannah’s?” Pleaseeeeee!
So this Christmas I have been whipping out minky pillow cases left and right, using a simple pattern I found online a few years back. It honestly takes me about 20 minutes to whip one up! For her to gift to her closest friends this Christmas. You canjust as easy but any cute pillow case and create the same. If sewing happens not to be your thing.
I found some cute eye covers at Target for $1.00 and decided that I couldn’t even make them that cheap. Then we stumbled upon some mood changing nail polish at Claries, which Hannah just HAD to have. Ten year old girls are all about the “mood change” stuff. Can’t imagine why! {Smile}
I really wanted a cute way to wrap everything up. I am a firm believer the way you package a gift is just as much the gift, as the gift it’s self!
When at Michael’s last week I found these cute clear paint cans.
And decided to make Paint Can Pillow Cases.
I know Hannah can’t wait to pass these out to her friends.

I had to share with you two cute little girls I was lucky to take pictures of a few weeks back. And maybe give some inspiration to anyone out there still struggling with creating a Christmas Card.
They were perfect “fashion models” for me and really got into posing for the camera!
Some of our best shots didn’t come till right at the very end.
Funny how that works.
Their Christmas card turned out so cute. They used a lyric to a new song they had learned at school, Merry Christmas with a capital “C”! I love when family’s make their cards personal. It’s like a stamp in time as to just what their kiddos were all about.
It’s not too late to create something cute for your family to share this Christmas. So get your thinking caps on everyone.

You guessed it…
For the past two years both kiddos have be hounding, no pun intended, to get a dog. We have discussed with them at GREAT length what a H.U.G.E. responsibility a pet is. A pet is Commitment till the day they pass a way. Not a fly by night play toy. It’s not only feeding and walking but spending time with the pet.
Now almost a week into caring for our new 12 week old British Lab, Bronx, they are beginning to understand. But have not complained once! Just the opposite has taken place. They are working together, playing together and enjoying every bit of it! Get back to me in about 4 months and will see how things are going!
This little pup has been downright perfect! We purchased him from a friend of ours that happens to be a breeder. And LOVES what she does. Bronx is crate trained, house broken, sets in the bathtub to be bathed and easier than I would have dreamed.
This was a big step for me as I have refused to have any indoor animal in my home. And I am still coping living with him inside for the next few months. Yep, as soon as the weather starts to turn warm he will move out to his permanent home in the back yard.
Until then my kiddos are enjoying every minute with their new BFF!
Now you will have to excuse me, I have some puppy pads I need to return.
I am sure that most of us have a large stack of Children’s Christmas books we try and read to our kiddos over the Christmas Season.
So I wonder if this scenario every get’s played out in your home.
Oldest child wants to read one book so younger child thinks it would be “fun” to mix things up and want to read another book. Granted in a perfect world, without homework and life’s obligations, we just might have time to read all of them every night. But there just aren’t enough hours in my day to make that happen.
I decided to take all the books we have left to read this year and wrap each one up. Now we take turns between the two kiddos on who gets to pick and unwrap what we are going to read for the night.
Not only has it stopped the “no I want to read this one” little man loves the idea of getting to unwrap something!

It’s official! The Christmas cooking, baking and creating has begun!
Each year I always make the same things. Chocolate Caramel covered apples, Caramel corn, monster cookies, and chocolate covered pretzels. So this year I have decided to add a couple of new treats.
Over the summer I picked up a few cases of small jelly jars for $3.00 a case. So I was looking for something to fill them up. And this weekend I started that process with Homemade Ice Cream Caramel Sauce.
Here is how to make this yummy treat.
First you need to gather the following
¾ Cup white sugar
¾ Cup water
1/3 cup butter, cubed
¾ Cup whipping cream
½ tsp. vanilla
Combine water and sugar and heat over med-low heat until sugar dissolves. Then increase heat to med-high and cook until sugar turns a deep amber color {don’t rush this step like I did on my first batch, you’ll end up with a milk white Caramel sauce!} Using a wet pastry brush to wipe down the sides and “swirl” the sugar as it cooks.
Once the amber color appears slowly pour in whipping cream. Sauce will bubble rapidly. *UPDATE* I Failed to tell you to add the butter right here! Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour into jelly jars while still hot and seal. Wait to hear that “pop” to insure that it has sealed. Allow to cool!
Can be kept at room temp. until opened. Then store in refrigerator.
You know that I had to spray paint my lids and tops! Then I just added our family sticker and we are good-to-go.

We attend several get to gathers over Christmas that has a number of children ages 10 and under. I always like to take a little something to them that might just help keep the entertained during the party.
Last year I took this, and this year I am taking these.
Make and create your own puzzle!
I purchased blank puzzles, turquoise envelopes, and boxes of crayons in 8 all from my local teaching store.
First, turn the blank puzzles over and write the same number on each puzzle piece per puzzle. I had a total of eight puzzles. So using a sharpie I wrote number 1 on each piece for the first puzzle and so on. This will help settle any arguments over whose piece belongs to whom!
Slide the puzzle into your envelope and add a pretty bow tying on the crayons last.
Don’t you just love those little snowflakes? I picked them up at the Dollar tree, 8 for $1.00!
