Awesome {possum} Find!

My little guy loves to shop estate sales treasure hunts with me.

He found this on one of our last outings.
And with a $5.00 price tag I said sure thing.

He helped me carry it to the car talking all the way about how he was going to use it to store his t-ball gear.
I had another idea.
How about we spray paint it Yankee blue and you can put it by your bed?

He thought that was a great idea!
And so that’s just what we did.

Now if I could just get him to put his stuffed possum in it rather than sleeping with it.
I’m not sure if it gets anymore redneck than having your “lovey” be a stuffed {fake} possum.

Junk Bonanza

I had no idea that such a thing even existed.

Yes, yes I believe that a trip HERE will just about make everything just perfect.

I stumbled across this while reading a blog yesterday. So if you happen to be so lucky as to be anywhere near here please go for me.

Just don’t forget to report back and tell me just how fabulous it all was!

Snapper!

Time seems to pass me by even when I am not ready for it.

Yet another “first” to mark of Gabe’s bucket list.
He learned how to ride his sister’s bike this weekend.
In less than three minutes flat.
Within five minutes he was mastering his turn
And in less than 8 minutes he could start, turn and stop himself. The purple and blue flowers never slowed him down.

Sister enjoyed riding his “chopper” bike until his legs get just a bit longer.
Did I mention that he is only 5 years old?
I got to put this to use as we take our MANY rides around the neighborhood.

Not only did he learn to ride a bike this week

He learned how to snap!
We have been calling him snapper all week. Because everywhere is goes he goes snapping his fingers.

The only thing left to do this summer is finish teaching him how to swim.

Any bets that it will be under 3 minutes?

Pink Strawberry Fizzy Lemonade

***WARNING*** This is a highly addicting drink that you will be asked to make time and time again.

Pink Fizzy Strawberry Lemonade I have decided is perfect for just about any time.
I do my best to keep all the items stocked so we are good to go at the drop of a hat.

All you need to make this fabulous drink is

1 16 oz. package frozen strawberries (slightly thawed)
1 Can lemonade frozen concentrate
3 Tbsp. Sugar
1 liter Club Soda (chilled)

In blender mix strawberries, lemonade and sugar. Puree until smooth. Chill until ready to serve. Before serving slowly add one liter of chilled club soda.
D-E-L-I-S-H!

My First Goodwill Outlet Experience

When we were visiting Omaha a few weeks back I had a bit of free time. And remembered the team bus had driven us by a Goodwill outlet one day.

You know me we just had to go. This was my first trip to a Goodwill Outlet where things are priced by pound not item, and requires LOTS of digging on your part.

I was so overwhelmed with everything in the store I forgot to take pictures.

While shopping they made and announcement. “Attention customers ALL furniture today is priced at $.97 cents EACH.” I just about passed out on the spot. They had a TON of things that I wanted.

{Please forgive the pictures via iphone}

Like this kid size table that I new would look oh so cute redone just like the ones from PB and $.97 cents!
This baby I wanted soooo bad. It would have been a fabulous project and I even had it taken to the front of the store. Sadly there was no way that I could cram it into my Tahoe for the trip home. With my head hung low I had to leave it behind.

But here are a few things that I did make off with. All for just $1.00 each!

This oak picnic basket I fell in love with.
I just searched it on eBay and they want $59.99 for it!
A lovely new stand for the kitchen.A baking sheet turned into a perfect magnetic board.

One Shabby Chic suitcase.
A tin vintage English chocolate package.
A book with paintings from the first 300 years in America.

I can’t wait to get a few of them framed. I found it on eBay too for $19.99.
Especially this wild turkey.
This leather handled basket that I put by the back door to hold pool towels. Turns out on a trip to Anthropologie I noticed that it’s their shopping bag!

And a fabulous vintage bird tray.

Just had to share my love for all the charm I come across at a Goodwill.
