Let me start from the beginning…

Ryan new that I had wanted a small NY decal for the back of my car. This was the first time I have ever requested to put ANYTHING on my car. So I had expressed my interest in it being about 3 inches tall and very “clean lined” no color etc.
So he surprised me with this. A nice 8 inch tall NY decal for my car. He had no idea when he ordered it what size it was going to be. Needless to say I was not going to be applying to my car anytime soon.
I got the clever idea to make him a board for his office. He had been asking for something to have a work to display the kid’s pictures and drawings that they make for him. Seeing he offices at a baseball field, I thought this was fitting.
Using my level ,as a spacer, I taped off pinstripes across one entire side.
Spray painted it Yankee blue.
And then removed the tape for perfect stripes. Loving how it turned out!
I applied the logo over the stripes.
And used these to adhere to the back for hanging.

I was so pleased with how it turned out.

Grabbing a magnet to hang Gabe’s T-ball picture on it is when I realized what I had done.

While at the hardware store I was so excited about the square 24 x 24 sheet of stainless steel I was getting for a mere $13.00. I failed to stop and realize that stainless is NOT magnetic.

One of those "duh moments" I wished came to mind before I finished the project.

So now I am stuck with trying to figure out a way to make it work. I might try sticking magnet sheets on the back and see if the stainless is thin enough to work.

Sigh…It would have been so cute!

EGGsactly the Gadget we ALL neeed!

If I were to be honest I really don’t think I could boil eggs without it. And until a few weeks ago I thought everyone knew about this nifty little gadget. I was oh so wrong…and then it hit me maybe you don’t know about it either. And I sharing this with you now will be a life changing event in how you boil your eggs form this day on.

I have used this exact one for the last 20 years and it still works perfect every time!
It’s simple; just place the Eggsact Egg Timer in the middle of pot full off water. Then slowly place your eggs all around it.
Set your lovely little pot on the stove and boil until your Eggsact Egg Timer shows the firmness that you want your eggs to be cooked. Choose from soft, medium and hard.
Once they have cooked to your desired constancy turn off heat and let cool in water.

Easy peasy…

My Advise, Plant only ONE Cherry Tomato Plant!

I promise myself every year that I am not going to let it happen…I am not going to get sick of caring for my garden and throw in the towel.

But I am so tired of picking 200-300 of these EVERY Day!

Really….does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with this many cherry and grape tomatoes? Don’t get me wrong we have been sharing the love with anyone that will take a bowl, or two, full.

However I have yet to get tired of having vases full of these everywhere I look.

So any tips on how to use up these cuties would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you very much!

It Really Can't Be!

It happened this weekend…I now have to check off that next box up when it asks for your age bracket!

Birthdays are a reminder at just how fast life can pass you by.

This is me and my BABY {age 10}. I swear to you that I just changed her diaper 10 minutes ago.
This little man I was just pregnant with him yesterday, promise!

We had a great weekend celebrating with family. Eating pizza and cupcakes on campus corner.
Then over for a little glow bowling.

My nephew had it down. Drop your ball kick it and then stear it to a strike!
I got some really “rad” cooking gadgets this weekend and have full intentions of using them over the next few weeks. So I hope to have some great fast and easy recipes coming soon.

Awesome {possum} Find!

My little guy loves to shop estate sales treasure hunts with me.

He found this on one of our last outings.
And with a $5.00 price tag I said sure thing.

He helped me carry it to the car talking all the way about how he was going to use it to store his t-ball gear.
I had another idea.
How about we spray paint it Yankee blue and you can put it by your bed?

He thought that was a great idea!
And so that’s just what we did.

Now if I could just get him to put his stuffed possum in it rather than sleeping with it.
I’m not sure if it gets anymore redneck than having your “lovey” be a stuffed {fake} possum.

Junk Bonanza

I had no idea that such a thing even existed.

Yes, yes I believe that a trip HERE will just about make everything just perfect.

I stumbled across this while reading a blog yesterday. So if you happen to be so lucky as to be anywhere near here please go for me.

Just don’t forget to report back and tell me just how fabulous it all was!

Time seems to pass me by even when I am not ready for it.

Yet another “first” to mark of Gabe’s bucket list.
He learned how to ride his sister’s bike this weekend.
In less than three minutes flat.
Within five minutes he was mastering his turn
And in less than 8 minutes he could start, turn and stop himself. The purple and blue flowers never slowed him down.

Sister enjoyed riding his “chopper” bike until his legs get just a bit longer.
Did I mention that he is only 5 years old?
I got to put this to use as we take our MANY rides around the neighborhood.

Not only did he learn to ride a bike this week

He learned how to snap!
We have been calling him snapper all week. Because everywhere is goes he goes snapping his fingers.

The only thing left to do this summer is finish teaching him how to swim.

Any bets that it will be under 3 minutes?

Pink Strawberry Fizzy Lemonade

***WARNING*** This is a highly addicting drink that you will be asked to make time and time again.

Pink Fizzy Strawberry Lemonade I have decided is perfect for just about any time.
I do my best to keep all the items stocked so we are good to go at the drop of a hat.

All you need to make this fabulous drink is

1 16 oz. package frozen strawberries (slightly thawed)
1 Can lemonade frozen concentrate
3 Tbsp. Sugar
1 liter Club Soda (chilled)

In blender mix strawberries, lemonade and sugar. Puree until smooth. Chill until ready to serve. Before serving slowly add one liter of chilled club soda.

My First Goodwill Outlet Experience

When we were visiting Omaha a few weeks back I had a bit of free time. And remembered the team bus had driven us by a Goodwill outlet one day.

You know me we just had to go. This was my first trip to a Goodwill Outlet where things are priced by pound not item, and requires LOTS of digging on your part.

I was so overwhelmed with everything in the store I forgot to take pictures.

While shopping they made and announcement. “Attention customers ALL furniture today is priced at $.97 cents EACH.” I just about passed out on the spot. They had a TON of things that I wanted.

{Please forgive the pictures via iphone}

Like this kid size table that I new would look oh so cute redone just like the ones from PB and $.97 cents!
This baby I wanted soooo bad. It would have been a fabulous project and I even had it taken to the front of the store. Sadly there was no way that I could cram it into my Tahoe for the trip home. With my head hung low I had to leave it behind.

But here are a few things that I did make off with. All for just $1.00 each!

This oak picnic basket I fell in love with.
I just searched it on eBay and they want $59.99 for it!
A lovely new stand for the kitchen.A baking sheet turned into a perfect magnetic board.

One Shabby Chic suitcase.
A tin vintage English chocolate package.
A book with paintings from the first 300 years in America.

I can’t wait to get a few of them framed. I found it on eBay too for $19.99.
Especially this wild turkey.
This leather handled basket that I put by the back door to hold pool towels. Turns out on a trip to Anthropologie I noticed that it’s their shopping bag!

And a fabulous vintage bird tray.

Just had to share my love for all the charm I come across at a Goodwill.
